I WALK ALONE
To walk alone in life can be by personnal choice. It can propel you to become the person you were born to be and step out of the crowd. It can also be symbolic. You can walk alone even when you are surrounded by people by friends or family. But to walk alone can also be because life took an unexpected turn. Without distinction of age gender or religion many in our society walk alone.
The inspiration for my series of pictures “I walk alone,” comes from my last trip to California in 2023 as I was walking on the beautiful beach on Santa Monica and Venice during the golden hours. Amongst the shots I took I enjoyed stealing little moments of complicity between dogs and their owners.
I like to capture moments and photography without a paused appearance as well as shooting faceless pictures. They can be powerful because they evoke different interpretations. We all see things with different eyes. I think that when we look at a photography, we select different messages based on what interests us. It will often depend on our own situation and our relation to the situation.
We focus on what is maybe familiar to us or what we consider important and that sets off an emotional impact. A picture can be worth a thousand words, and I would be happy if my photos trigger an emotion in you.
